Our Story

It all started in 1997 with the illusion of my father, a chef, to set up a small restaurant in a sunny location, with few tables, friendly and welcoming customer service and great respect for food. The Restaurant El Chaleco is an establishment where in the kitchen everything is done absolutely from the beginning, sauces, bread, ice cream, with us the industrialist has no place!

In 1998 we received from the famous Michelin gastronomic guide a mention in its pages and since 2000 until today we have been awarded the distinction of Michelin Bib Gourmand (Good gastronomy at a good price).

In 2017, my father, at the age of 67, after 40 years in the kitchen retired, leaving the position of Chef to his assistant chef, Stephane, who accompanied him for 15 years at the Restaurant El Chaleco. A well-deserved position after his cooking studies at the Belgian hotel school and his efforts through the great restaurants of this country.

For my part, not wanting to let my father’s dream die, I made the decision to continue on this path and I took the reins in January 2018 with the same enthusiasm, the same criteria of respect for food and fresh despite the work that Homemade gives, in short, without buying any finished product. It is always a source of pride to be able to see the result of dishes with a true and authentic flavor. We also take great care of our plates and the beauty of eating first with the eyes and then with the palate.
